VOLUNTEERING
Nathan has always felt an obligation to step up and fill the voids as they appeared during his life. As a result, he has been volunteering with various local organizations in the valley for several years.

Master of ceremonies for the Miss Douglas County/Miss Carson City and Outstanding Teen Pageants for more than 10 years

Served one year as President of the Carson Valley Little League as well as many years as a coach or manager at various levels

Volunteered as part of the Pit Crew for the Douglas High School Marching Band, chaperoned various one-day and over-night events for the High School and Middle School bands and choirs, and served one year as President of the Douglas High School Music Boosters

Coordinator and clinician of basketball camps and director of the traveling teams for boys and girls with the MEFIYI foundation

Served many years as rest stop manager for both local bicycle events: The Death Ride and the Alta Alpina Cycling Club Riding the Wild Sierra event

Parent volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America

Assistant Coach with the Douglas Youth Football League, the local representative of the Sierra Youth Football League that serves much of Northern Nevada

Many seasons coaching various sports with the Douglas County Recreation Department, Nathan also created an education seminar for coaches as well as a basketball-specific coaches training seminar to give less experienced coaches the tools to provide better skill development and a positive experience for their players
